Riverdance burst onto the world stage 25 years ago, on the 30th April 1994, as part of the Eurovision Song Contest. The response from the thousands of people witnessing it in person at the Point Depot and the international audience watching on TV, was extraordinary. This 7-minute routine was to change the face of Irish dance forever.
Since 1995 Riverdance has:
Played 11,500 performances and been seen live by over 25 million people in over 467 venues worldwide in 47 countries across 6 continents.
Travelled 750,000 miles (or to the moon and back and back again!).
Played to a global television audience of 3 billion people.
Sold over 3 million copies of the Grammy Award-winning CD and 10 million videos & DVDs.
A visit to Dublin is not complete without experiencing the energy and the spectacle of Riverdance in its home-town, back where it all began. A return to the historical Gaiety Theatre in the heart of Dublin City for the summer season.
